Putting Ransome on the Map

Voyages of Discovery

Voyages of Discovery is a programme of static displays and mobile events, designed to introduce Arthur Ransome’s life and works. Voyages of Discovery take place throughout the UK.

What’s happening in Voyages of Discovery and how can I help?

  • The Trust’s first Voyage of Discovery supported the Swallows and Amazons Musical at the Bristol Old Vic in 2010. Since then we have had over a dozen other Voyages, to venues such as the Holker Hall Garden Festival, the Lowther Sow, the Coniston Country Fair and Liverpool Central Library. We are continuing to develop Voyages of Discovery as an exciting programme of staffed events and static displays. The Events section of the website contains details of past events and future plans, as well as photo galleries from selected events. You can also discover more in the News section, and on our Facebook and Twitter links.
  • If you feel you’d like to help fund Voyages of Discovery, see the Get Involved section of the site.
  • If you have any ideas about locations that you feel could host a Voyage of Discovery, then please get in touch.
  • Perhaps you’d like to help at a Voyage of Discovery in your area? If so, please let us know.

“There’s a good place for a mooring,” said Starboard, pointing to a little bay.
