From Coniston to the Kremlin: Arthur Ransome’s Russian Adventures
3 June – 3 September
Our Temporary Moorings exhibition for 2017 is taking place in partnership with the Ruskin Museum, Coniston. The Ruskin Museum is open every day, from 10.00 – 17.30 (last entry 16.30). The entry charges for the museum are: Adults, £6.00, children, £3.00, families, £16.00. There is no additional fee for entry to the joint exhibition. Ransome at Home in the Lake District
27 July
ART Trustee and Arthur Ransome Literary Estate Executor, Paul Flint will be speaking at Blackwell as part of the Lakeland Arts Trust’s Summer of Swallows and Amazons events. Paul’s talk will be followed by a question and answer session.

Swallows and Amazons Marathon
3 September
Not 26 miles and those extra few hundred yards, but nearly 100,000 words arranged in 31 chapters: this marathon will be a public reading of Swallows and Amazons on the shores of Coniston Water, in site of many of the places that Arthur Ransome knew and was inspired by. The reading is being led by Dr Chris Routledge of Liverpool University, in partnership with the Lake District National Park Authority and ART.
