What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid can add 25p to every £1 you donate. When we receive an eligable donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim the tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) that he or she has paid on that donation.
To quality, you must be a UK taxpayer who has paid, or will pay, sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed by all charities on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.
The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year.
Please tell us if you:
- want to cancel this declaration;
- change your name or home address;
- no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains.
If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.
