Amazon Publications is an independent publishing co-operative that aims to publish one book per year by or about Arthur Ransome. For copyright reasons its books are only sold to members of The Arthur Ransome Society.


For their 1994 publication, Amazon Publications reprinted all of Ransome’s Swallows and Amazons series illustrations in one volume. Illustrating Arthur Ransome also includes Stephen Spurrier and Clifford Webb’s artwork for Swallows and Amazons and Swallowdale and examples of artwork overseas editions of Arthur Ransome’s books. The editor, Dave Sewart, provided a short introductory essay on Ransome’s development as an illustrator.
